Our program focuses on enhancing students' proficiency in Spanish while fostering a comprehensive appreciation of Spanish-speaking cultures and literary traditions both at home and internationally. It cultivates analytical abilities and strengthens students' sense of responsibility as engaged members of diverse local and global communities. The Spanish degree opens doors to numerous career paths across various sectors, including education, public service, legal fields, healthcare, hospitality, media, and non-profit work. Graduates often pursue postgraduate studies in medicine, education, business, law, or regional studies.
Spanish majors can select from three specialized concentrations: Spanish linguistics, Hispanic literature and cultural studies, or a comprehensive Spanish studies track. Through these options, students refine their language capabilities, gain profound insights into Spanish-speaking societies worldwide, enhance their critical analysis skills, and develop a stronger consciousness of their participation in multicultural communities at all levels.
