The Master of Music in Performance program equips talented musicians with the skills needed for professional music careers. This highly competitive program offers abundant performance opportunities and pairs students with faculty mentors. Participants gain intensive practical experience performing Western classical music under the guidance of accomplished artist-educators. Alumni establish careers as performers, arts administrators, educators, and beyond.
Viola students at Lamont join a supportive, close-knit studio focused on achieving musical mastery. They train under Colorado Symphony principal violist Professor Basil Vendryes. Before joining Lamont, Professor Vendryes performed with the San Francisco Symphony, Rochester Philharmonic, and New York Philharmonic. His distinguished career includes solo performances worldwide and recordings for major labels like Columbia, Phillips, Decca, RCA, and Nonesuch, plus chamber music recordings for Ariel Music, Cadenza Music, Centaur, CRI Toccata, and Naxos.
