The Master of Music in Performance program equips talented musicians with the skills needed for professional music careers. This highly competitive program offers abundant performance experiences and pairs students with faculty mentors. Participants gain intensive practical training in Western classical music performance under the guidance of artist-educators. Alumni pursue diverse careers ranging from performance to arts administration and teaching.
At Lamont, horn students learn from renowned performers, conductors, and educators, including a brass faculty boasting more than sixty years of collective experience. The horn studio is directed by David Byrd-Marrow, a leading figure in the field who performs as principal horn with New York's International Contemporary Ensemble. His extensive performance credits include appearances at the Ojai Music Festival, Bay Chamber Concerts, Mostly Mozart Festival, Tanglewood Music Center, and teaching engagements at the Banff Music Centre.
