The Master of Music curriculum includes both performance components (private lessons, board exams, recitals, ensemble work) and academic coursework covering music theory, history, graduate-level research, writing, and elective studies. CCM alumni establish careers across all areas of the performing arts and entertainment sectors, working as solo performers, chamber musicians, and members of prestigious ensembles worldwide - from symphony orchestras and opera companies to military bands and jazz groups. Many graduates also become private instructors or pursue further advanced studies.
As part of the University of Cincinnati, a leading research university with over 40,000 students, CCM benefits from its unique position within a comprehensive public institution. This dynamic environment shapes CCM's mission: to cultivate complete artists and scholars prepared for global careers in the arts.
