The one-year performance certificate program offers intensive training in a chosen performance discipline. This comprehensive curriculum blends individualized coaching, dynamic academic coursework, and hands-on performance opportunities to establish a solid foundation in musical proficiency. Students collaborate with Lamont School of Music's distinguished faculty, participating in ensemble performances while developing professional skills for music careers.
Vocal performance students receive instruction from renowned artists Catherine Kasch, Matthew Plenk, Cody Laun, and Heidi Melton, whose collective expertise spans more than fifty years in both performing and educating. Sahar Nouri serves as Lamont Opera Theatre's music director. Additionally, students refine their foreign language pronunciation under the guidance of Beth Nielsen, a versatile specialist in opera, art song, chamber works, and Broadway repertoire.
