The Master of Music program cultivates exceptional performing artists at the graduate level. This advanced degree trains aspiring professionals in various musical disciplines, including opera performance, concert artistry, orchestral playing, collaborative piano, composition, arranging, conducting, and freelance musicianship. Graduates may pursue private teaching or coaching as their primary vocation or as one component of a multifaceted career. The program also serves as a foundation for doctoral studies in music performance and pedagogy. Regardless of their individual goals, students in the John J. Qualification Requirements
The Graduate School requires the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor's degree in Music in order to be eligible to apply for a graduate program. Applicants with non-U.S. degrees need not submit transcripts. Instead, they must submit a course-by-course evaluation along with U.S. degree equivalency information of their coursework from any member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services or by Educated Choices.
