The one-year performance certificate program offers intensive training in a chosen musical discipline. This immersive experience blends individualized coaching, dynamic coursework, and hands-on performance opportunities to build comprehensive expertise in your instrument. Students collaborate with Lamont School of Music's distinguished faculty, participating in ensemble performances while developing professional competencies for music careers.
This 12-credit program spans a single academic year, requiring juried evaluations (specific to each instrument) and a culminating solo recital performance.
As one of Western music's most adaptable instruments, the saxophone allows Lamont students to master diverse musical genres and traditions. Our saxophone program graduates emerge with professional-caliber technique, expansive repertoire knowledge, and deep historical context for their art.

Hold a baccalaureate degree applicants must submit at least one transcript from all postsecondary institutions.
A minimum GPA of 2.5 for the baccalaureate degree or 3.0 for all completed graduate coursework.

The resume or CV should include work experience musical and nonmusical research and or volunteer work
