The one-year performance certificate program offers intensive training in a chosen performance discipline. This immersive experience blends individualized coaching, dynamic coursework, and hands-on performance opportunities to build comprehensive expertise in your instrument. Students collaborate with Lamont School of Music's distinguished faculty, participating in ensemble performances while developing professional skills for music careers.
This 12-credit program spans a single academic year, requiring juried performances (as specified by your performance focus) and at least one solo recital.
Lamont's percussion studio brings together passionate musicians committed to excellence while training for professional music careers. Students learn from John Kinzie, Lamont's Percussion Studies Director and Colorado Symphony's principal percussionist. Professor Kinzie began his orchestral journey at age 19 when he secured the principal percussion position with the Toledo Symphony Orchestra.
