The harpsichord program at the School of Music equips students with mastery of solo repertoire spanning from the late Renaissance to pre-Classical eras, along with comprehensive Baroque ensemble training that develops skilled continuo accompaniment for both vocal and instrumental performances. The curriculum additionally covers Baroque performance techniques, instrument study (organology), and harpsichord tuning/upkeep. Yale School of Music harpsichord students gain access to perform on historically restored instruments from the Yale Collection of Musical Instruments.
