The one-year performance certificate program offers intensive training in a chosen performance discipline. This curriculum blends one-on-one coaching, dynamic academic coursework, and hands-on performance to establish a comprehensive foundation in the student's primary instrument. Collaborating with Lamont School of Music's distinguished faculty, participants engage in ensemble performances while developing professional skills for music careers.

The oboe program provides exceptional mentorship and diverse performance experiences through various ensembles, including orchestral, wind, chamber, and contemporary music groups. Quarterly instruction includes specialized oboe masterclasses and comprehensive woodwind performance sessions with personalized critiques. Lamont's oboe students learn from acclaimed performers Ian Wisekal and Sarah Mellander Bierhaus. Maestro Wisekal serves as Principal Oboist for both the Greeley Philharmonic and Crested Butte Music Festival, with prior experience as Associate Principal Oboist for the Puerto Rico Symphony. Professor Bierhaus holds principal positions with Opera Colorado and Boulder Philharmonic while serving as Associate Principal for the Colorado Springs Philharmonic.
