The University of Denver's Bachelor of Science in Chemistry (BSCh) program offers exceptional groundwork for students aiming for advanced chemistry studies. This rigorous degree, approved by the American Chemical Society, also serves as excellent preparation for careers in the chemical industry immediately after graduation. The curriculum features thorough chemistry coverage and emphasizes substantial research involvement.
Program participants complete 62 chemistry credit hours - 15 more than the standard Bachelor of Science requirements. Much of the learning happens in our advanced chemistry laboratories, where students gain practical experience using cutting-edge equipment. Throughout their studies, learners benefit from small class sizes taught by research-experienced faculty.
BSCh candidates additionally fulfill 20 credit hours in mathematics and computer science, plus 15 physics credit hours. The program also allows students to focus on biochemistry through elective course selections.
