As a political science student, you'll study across four specialized areas. To develop comprehensive knowledge of political science principles, you'll complete at least one course in each sub-field while pursuing additional coursework in your preferred topics. The major requires taking PLSC 2901 (suggested in your second year) and PLSC 3290 (a senior-year requirement).
The four sub-fields consist of: American politics, deepening your knowledge of U.S. political systems; comparative/international politics, investigating how political, social, cultural and economic factors shape different nations and regions; legal studies, focusing on the interplay between judicial and governmental structures; and political theory, which critically examines core political ideas and their manifestations in various governance systems.
