The University of Delaware proudly presents its Equine Therapeutics Certificate program. As an accredited Higher Education Member of PATH International and in collaboration with Carousel Park & Equestrian Center, a PATH Intl. Premier Accredited Center, this certificate equips students with the knowledge and practical skills needed to qualify as Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructors (CTRI) and/or Equine Specialists in Mental Health and Learning (ES). Graduates will meet and surpass all CTRI and/or ES certification requirements, exceeding professional benchmarks set by PATH Intl.
The Department of Animal and Food Sciences provides undergraduate Bachelor of Science programs in: 1) Animal Science, 2) Pre-Veterinary Medicine, 3) Animal Biosciences, and 4) Food Science. Students can pursue minors in a) Animal Science, b) Animal Nutrition, c) Food Science, and d) Equine Science, along with certificate options in a) Equine Therapeutics and b) One Health. An Honors Degree pathway is available across all departmental majors, featuring extensive experiential, research-oriented learning opportunities.
Certificate coursework integrates three academic fields - animal science, behavioral health/education, and human development. Instruction is delivered by both UD faculty and experienced equine professionals.
These certificate programs welcome both current UD undergraduates and interested community members.
