Students majoring in Food Science will gain the necessary skills for careers throughout the food industry, including positions with corporations, government bodies, and NGOs focused on food-related matters, or for advancing their studies in graduate programs. Food scientists play a vital role in addressing global food demands by innovating new products, maintaining food safety through processing techniques and quality assurance, navigating food regulations, representing industry groups, performing research, and educating both students and the public about food topics. The program offers three specialized tracks for Food Science students. Each track covers fundamental aspects of the food system, including product innovation. Students complete additional coursework in their chosen specialization to gain deeper expertise and professional readiness in specific Food Science domains. The Science Track allows students to choose from science-focused classes while offering elective options to align with individual interests. Those selecting the Operations and Management Track explore food manufacturing and business aspects through specialized courses in production, marketing, and management. The Culinary Track focuses on food theory, preparation techniques, and presentation skills.
