If you're passionate about science, you likely had an educator who nurtured that interest. To ignite that same enthusiasm in future generations, pursuing earth science education is your ideal path. Educators in this field play a vital role in teaching youth to value and protect our planet's resources while promoting sustainable, habitable environments.

The earth science education program prepares you to become a high school science instructor. Accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, this curriculum provides robust training in both liberal arts and scientific content. Throughout your sophomore, junior, and senior years, you'll gain hands-on experience through field placements and student teaching in one of Delaware's rapidly expanding school districts, culminating in a 15-week teaching practicum. Upon fulfilling all requirements, you'll earn the University of Delaware's endorsement for teaching certification.
