A brain that knows multiple languages is more nimble and excels at resolving issues and disagreements. Those who learn languages show enhanced mental abilities that last a lifetime.
While more than half the global population speaks two or more languages, merely 20% of Americans can communicate in something other than English. Understanding different languages and cultures provides our alumni with an edge in any profession, particularly in global commerce and professional circles. Our graduates pursue diverse careers in education, media and entertainment, public service, tourism, banking, or global trade. Some embark on careers with international or nonprofit entities like the International Red Cross or WHO, while others pursue higher education for roles in global law, foreign relations, or academia.
