The University of Connecticut's Master of Fine Arts in Acting is a rigorous, conservatory-based program tailored for students with substantial prior acting experience, equipping them for immediate professional performance careers across theatre, television, and film. This graduate-level program integrates a comprehensive three-year acting curriculum with intensive voice and movement instruction, complemented by diverse theatre arts coursework. Students gain exceptional performance experience through the Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT), the production arm of the Department of Dramatic Arts, where they form a core part of the acting ensemble. Working alongside industry professionals, participants accumulate credits toward joining Actor's Equity Association (AEA), the leading U.S. union for stage performers and managers. Most graduates achieve Equity eligibility before completing the program.
