The field of Cell and Developmental Biology (CDB) offers comprehensive education in core aspects of cellular science, organismal development, and regenerative processes, with opportunities to earn either a Master's or PhD through research. Those aiming for careers in biotech or pharmaceuticals can also opt for an MS in Applied Biochemistry and Cell Biology through the Professional Master's Program.
CDB research spans fundamental discoveries, practical applications, and clinical translations in cellular and developmental sciences. Our interdisciplinary approach connects with all other MCB concentration areas. Studies explore diverse subjects like cellular movement regulation, cytoskeleton behavior, stress responses in cells, microbe-host relationships, gene control in development and healing, immune system signaling, immunomodulatory compound identification, stem cell research, and disease modeling in animals.
