Geospatial Information Science (GIS), sometimes referred to as digital cartography, focuses on handling, organizing, processing, combining, and presenting location-based data. Within the College of Architecture and Planning, various fields employ GIS to examine and interpret geographic data patterns, address location-specific inquiries from partners and clients, and produce essential mapping and analytical tools for planning and research that facilitate effective stakeholder communication.
This certification program caters to those interested in utilizing GIS for design and urban planning challenges. It welcomes both current University of Colorado degree students seeking additional qualifications and working professionals not pursuing degrees who want to enhance their career capabilities through certification.
