The LLM program at Colorado Law provides students with complete immersion in legal studies while ensuring equal access to academic resources, specialized courses, and the broader University of Colorado-Boulder campus. Our JD and LLM students collaborate and learn together in an integrated environment. Colorado Law values the distinct perspectives and varied experiences that LLM students bring, recognizing how these contributions strengthen our academic community and enhance the institution's global scholarly influence. The LLM curriculum offers extensive flexibility, allowing each student to tailor their studies to align with individual academic goals and career aspirations. While the majority of coursework takes place at the law school, students may also enhance their legal education by enrolling in graduate-level classes across other University of Colorado-Boulder departments.
Colorado Law boasts a distinguished tradition of scholarship and instruction in Indigenous peoples' law. Under the leadership of Dean James Anaya, the institution is broadening its focus in this field. Faculty and students actively collaborate with Indigenous communities, United Nations agencies, international organizations, governments, NGOs, and corporations across the Americas and globally on matters affecting Indigenous populations. This area of study naturally intersects with Colorado Law's established expertise in international law, natural resources, and intellectual property rights.
