Our seven Master of Laws (LL.M.) programs concentrate on some of today's most relevant and complex legal fields for practicing attorneys. Tailored for both international lawyers and U.S. graduates with a J.D., UW Law's LL.M. programs enable legal practitioners to enhance their expertise and broaden their skills. Students benefit from UW Law's Seattle location, immersing themselves in the city's dynamic professional landscape while participating in initiatives and collaborations that nurture tomorrow's legal leaders. Offering six focused concentrations plus a fully adaptable General LL.M. track, learners craft their academic journey to align with their career goals and personal passions. After completing foundational coursework, students broaden their education by choosing from an extensive selection of specialized, practice-oriented, and cross-disciplinary electives, with the option to enroll in courses across UW's other schools.

The General Law LL.M. provides a flexible curriculum for both domestic and international students whose objectives don't perfectly match the specialized programs. Some participants bring substantial work experience while transitioning practice areas, while others pursue additional qualifications to start their careers or meet U.S. bar exam requirements for foreign-trained attorneys. This program grants students the freedom to select courses that support their professional ambitions and personal growth.
