The Human Language Technology Program provides a graduate-level certificate that complements a standard MA or MS degree in one of three HLT disciplines: Computer Science, Linguistics, or Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences. The rapid expansion of the internet and significant advances in computational capabilities over the past ten years have created substantial demand for training and investigation in human language technology. This interdisciplinary domain encompasses several crucial technological and scientific fields.
The University of Colorado Boulder's collaborative HLT Certificate, administered by multiple departments including the Institute of Cognitive Science, the Center for Computational Language and Education Research, and departments of Computer Science, Linguistics, and Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences, delivers comprehensive foundational knowledge for students pursuing careers in computational human language processing.
