The Department provides a Master of Arts in Romance Languages, with concentration options available in French and Spanish, Italian and Spanish, or French and Italian. The program features a customized curriculum tailored to each student's academic goals and preferences. This adaptable structure accommodates both those pursuing doctoral studies and those completing their education with a Master's degree. Two distinct pathways are offered: Track A, Literature and Culture: Ideal for students pursuing a conventional M.A. or planning advanced Ph.D. studies. Participants typically create a study plan incorporating literature, linguistics, and cultural studies in one or two Romance languages. This pathway offers the option of completing a Master's Thesis or passing a Comprehensive Examination for degree qualification. Track B, Language Pedagogy for Secondary Educators: Specifically designed for provisional-certified secondary language teachers needing to fulfill state-mandated Master's degree requirements. This track serves graduates of undergraduate Foreign Language Teacher Preparation Programs, enabling educators to deepen their expertise in their teaching language(s) and associated cultures. All classes are scheduled after 5:30 p.m. to accommodate working teachers' schedules.
