The Air Quality track's research and coursework cover diverse subjects including air quality assessment, climate shifts, atmospheric processes, health effects, pollution management technologies, and regulatory approaches. Studies focus on evaluation and impact analysis across various scales - from micro-level (building-specific) to worldwide perspectives, spanning pure scientific inquiry to practical social science and participatory community studies, as well as from digital modeling to on-site investigations in isolated areas. CU Boulder enjoys a privileged position within an unparalleled network of research centers and federal laboratories specializing in atmospheric studies. Key institutions like NREL, NCAR, NOAA, and NIST are all conveniently located within a half-hour radius of the university campus.
