The Cell and Cancer Biology graduate program at UC boasts a longstanding tradition. Originally administered by the Department of Cancer and Cell Biology, the program underwent significant expansion in 1994, evolving into a truly interdisciplinary initiative. Today it involves more than 50 faculty members across various UC departments and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC). These distinguished faculty, all leaders in their respective fields, demonstrate exceptional commitment to graduate education. This results in students who produce outstanding research, achieve remarkable career success, and benefit from an enriched learning environment in Cancer and Cell Biology.
All admitted PhD candidates receive comprehensive financial support, including full tuition coverage, a competitive national stipend, and health insurance. The program typically requires four to six years of study post-bachelor's degree, with duration adjusted to individual backgrounds and research focus. Our educational approach emphasizes creating an intellectually engaging, supportive atmosphere that prepares students for thriving careers in contemporary research.
