The University of Central Florida's School of Modeling, Simulation, and Training (SMST) offers interdisciplinary degree programs tailored for careers across diverse sectors including academia, government, defense, healthcare, entertainment, technology, education, and manufacturing. While simulation serves as a fundamental tool in engineering and scientific disciplines for research and analysis, its applications extend far beyond - encompassing training programs, management strategies, and conceptual development. Our curriculum focuses on creating computer-based, human-centric, and equipment-focused models that represent both existing systems and innovative concepts.
Through extensive consultation with industry professionals, UCF SMST has identified essential competencies that shape our academic programs. This industry collaboration has been instrumental in crafting a curriculum that offers comprehensive insights into the evolving simulation field while addressing practical economic factors. Our educational approach emphasizes assessing human, organizational, and technical systems through rigorous analysis of simulation outputs. Graduates from SMST programs emerge with both broad foundational knowledge and specialized expertise in Modeling and Simulation methodologies.
