Our Education Doctoral Programs develop scholars committed to advancing educational research and practice while upholding the profession's highest standards. Graduates emerge as guardians of the discipline, responsible for preserving, generating, and implementing educational knowledge while effectively sharing it with others. North Dakota State University provides two doctoral pathways in Education: the Ed.D. and Ph.D., with specializations in Institutional Analysis or Occupational and Adult Education. The Institutional Analysis track equips students with essential competencies for evaluating institutional effectiveness across various environments, emphasizing assessment methods, evaluation strategies, and analytical approaches to inform policy development and organizational decision-making. The Occupational and Adult Education specialization prepares professionals to facilitate adult learning experiences in diverse contexts, emphasizing lifelong learning principles applicable to learners of all ages. Both doctoral programs mandate completion of at least 90 semester credits post-bachelor's degree (with a minimum of 60 credits following a master's degree).
