Ideal for those seeking to enhance their leadership skills in PK-12 and similar environments, the Executive EdD typically attracts educators already working in teaching or administrative roles across elementary, secondary schools, and educational agencies. Key focus areas encompass: organizational and political theory, systems thinking, leadership development, assessment strategies, educational law and finance, data-driven decision making, communication techniques, instructional leadership, personnel management, and program evaluation. Note that this program does not lead to Educational Leadership certification.
The Executive track mandates completion of at least 54 credit hours post-master's degree, featuring 6 credit hours of client-focused Doctoral Field Study and a minimum of 15 credit hours dedicated to Dissertation in Practice. Designed for working professionals, this cohort-based program follows a structured, lock-step curriculum to accommodate those balancing teaching or administrative careers.
