The Emerging Media BFA program enables students to blend diverse creative fields such as art, design, narrative, and technology through three specialized tracks: Character Animation, Experimental Animation, or Graphic Design. This curriculum offers: comprehensive training in technical skills and theoretical knowledge within a chosen specialization, exposure to interconnected fields like arts, humanities, and technology, and hands-on collaboration experience solving real-world challenges across disciplines. The School of Visual Arts and Design oversees this program.

Within the Graphic Design concentration, students master the principles of visual communication while emphasizing professional design practices. The curriculum merges technological proficiency with artistic sensibility, covering areas like typography, publication design, brand identity systems, packaging, motion graphics, poster design, and digital interfaces including UI/UX.

Qualification Requirements

Students whose first language is not English may be required to demonstrate English proficiency by one of the following means:
Proving youre from a country where English is the only official language
Establishing that a prior bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree was earned from another accredited institution of higher education (meeting university transfer eligibility requirements) in the United States
Establishing that a prior bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree was earned from a country where English is the only official language or from a university at which English is the only official language of instruction
Submitting a qualifying score (220 or higher for computer-based, 80 or higher for internet-based or 550 or higher for paper-based) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or a score of 6.5 or higher on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
A minimum 520 EBRW rSAT score, 480 Critical Reading SAT score, 20 ACT (English section), or 42 CLT (Verbal Reasoning plus Grammar/Writing)
Presenting a minimum grade of B in both English Composition I and English Composition II, or the equivalent, taken at another accredited institution of higher education (meeting university transfer eligibility requirements) in the United States
Completion of four years of English in an American high school in the United States
