The combined Earth sciences and anthropology major is designed for students passionate about both Earth sciences and the laboratory-focused aspects of anthropology. This program caters to anthropology students fascinated by archaeology or paleoanthropology who seek deeper natural science training, as well as Earth sciences students drawn to paleobiology or archaeology. Offering comprehensive education in both fields, this major prepares students for graduate studies in Earth sciences, archaeology, or paleoanthropology. With distinct science cognates and required lower- and upper-division courses differing from the standard major, students should plan meticulously and consult academic advisors in both the Earth and Planetary Sciences and Anthropology departments early for guidance.
