The Bachelor of Science in Biological Anthropology covers human evolution, anatomy, primate studies, and scientific methods. Unlike the BA in Anthropology, the BS program demands additional science coursework with deeper emphasis on biological anthropology. Students can acquire hands-on lab experience at the department's Center for the Advanced Study of Human Paleobiology.
This science-intensive program equips graduates for graduate studies in biological anthropology or medical school. The focus on human behavior also opens doors to non-scientific careers in business leadership or legal fields.
Important: While students may pursue dual majors in biological anthropology and archaeology, upper-level courses (2000-3000 level) cannot be applied to both degree requirements.
