The Master of Science (MS) degree offers specialized education in Media Arts and Technology. This graduate program generally requires two years of full-time study to finish. During the initial year, MAT's rigorous cross-disciplinary coursework establishes fundamental knowledge in aesthetics, historical context, and technical skills across key disciplines including electronic music production, visual arts, spatial design, and multimedia engineering.
In the second year, students can concentrate on their chosen specialization through elective courses. Every participant must undertake either a capstone project or thesis during this final year. The project track focuses on creative work and/or media investigations guided by MAT professors, while the thesis alternative entails composing an in-depth academic research document.
Applicants must have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in media arts and technology, art, music, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a closely related field. Note that outstanding students with a bachelor’s degree may apply directly to the MS/Ph.D program. Typically, students who enter with a bachelor’s degree will take longer to complete the Ph.D. than those with a master’s degree.
