The Department of Communication partners with various WSU departments to deliver a graduate certificate in health communication. This program equips graduate students across disciplines—including communication, public health, nursing, sociology, and social work—with research-driven professional training. It also serves practicing professionals in healthcare fields such as nursing, social work, nutrition, physical therapy, pharmacy, and medicine.
Students pursuing both the Graduate Certificate and a relevant MA can apply up to six shared credits. However, credits transferred from other institutions cannot be used to fulfill the certificate's requirements.

A 3.0 GPA in upper-division coursework
All transcripts submitted to Graduate Admissions,
Academic/professional statement of purpose (500 words),
Dispute Resolution Certificate applicants only also require three letters of reference.
International students whose native language is not English are required to submit official TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) scores to Graduate Admissions. Minimum acceptable score is 100 on the iBT (Internet based test). IELTS 6.0.
