The integrated BS/MS program in Actuarial Science enables exceptional undergraduate students to obtain both their Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Actuarial Science within five years, with high-achieving students potentially completing the program in just four years. This curriculum equips students for professional actuarial careers through rigorous mathematical and computational training. Participants will acquire practical research experience by collaborating on actuarial projects with industry partners. The MS in Actuarial Science is exclusively offered through this combined degree program and is solely available to current UCSB Actuarial Science majors.

Qualification Requirements

You are considered a freshman applicant if you have completed secondary school and have not enrolled at any college or university.

Students interested in the BS/MS program must pre-apply to the department for review by the BS/MS Admissions committee. The B.S./M.S. Program in Actuarial Science requires a minimum grade-point average (GPA) of 3.2. If students are accepted by the department admissions committee, they will formally apply to the program through UCSB's graduate division in order to advance to graduate standing.

English Language Proficiency

The minimum accepted score for admission consideration for the TOEFL is 80 or better on the Internet-based test and 550 or better on the paper-based test.

The minimum accepted score for the IELTS is 6.5 or better band score (academic modules).
