Statistics is the field of mathematics focused on analyzing and interpreting data. Its uses are everywhere, from predicting weather patterns and conducting research to ensuring product quality, understanding consumer needs, determining cause-and-effect relationships, and evaluating medical treatments. Our Department provides both major and minor programs in statistics. The major equips students with comprehensive training in statistics, mathematics, and computing, preparing them for careers in business, industry, or actuarial fields, as well as for graduate studies in statistics. The program offers four specialized tracks: actuarial science, applied mathematics, computer science, or biological science.
