K-State's actuarial program is housed within the Mathematics Department, providing students with a solid mathematical foundation. The university also has a dedicated Statistics Department, allowing actuarial students to pursue a dual major in Actuarial Mathematics and Statistics for comprehensive statistical training. Our curriculum focuses on VEE requirements and preliminary exams without bias toward SOA or CAS, equipping graduates for careers across life, health, personal (auto, home), commercial (worker compensation, business insurance), and consulting sectors. Unlike typical actuarial science programs, our students master mathematics first before specializing in actuarial studies, resulting in stronger qualifications and superior exam performance compared to peers at other institutions.
