As a Pharmacology major, you'll study drug structures, chemical properties, and their impacts on biological systems. This program focuses on pharmacology as a fundamental science rather than clinical applications. The Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology (MCDB) Department provides four undergraduate majors: biochemistry-molecular biology, cell and developmental biology, microbiology, and pharmacology. It also collaborates with the Ecology, Evolution, and Marine Biology Department for an interdisciplinary biological sciences major (B.A. or B.S. options). Graduate programs include M.A. and Ph.D. degrees specializing in molecular, cellular, and developmental biology. An interdisciplinary biomolecular science and engineering graduate program is available through partnerships with Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, Materials, and Mechanical/Environmental Engineering departments. Numerous undergraduate courses are open for electives or to supplement degrees from other departments.
