The Pharmacological Chemistry program offers comprehensive training in chemistry, covering key subjects needed for pharmacy school admission in California. Designed mainly for aspiring pharmacy students (Pharm.D.), this major also equips graduates for advanced studies in pharmacology, biochemistry, or related scientific fields through elective choices. The curriculum also provides excellent preparation for careers in biotechnology and chemical industries.

We highly recommend that pharmacological chemistry students complete a full academic year of general chemistry and introductory biology. Similar to medical school prerequisites, many pharmacy programs mandate a full year of these foundational courses and may not accept alternative credit options like AP exams. For additional details, explore the Learning Objectives for the Pharmacological Chemistry program.
