The Environmental Studies (ES) program equips students to become global leaders in multidisciplinary analysis, addressing environmental health, sustainability, and driving social transformation in the modern era. This highly interdisciplinary program allows students to investigate diverse environmental themes by integrating principles, theories, and methodologies from natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities. Through research, students develop creative solutions while acquiring both theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills to tackle urgent environmental issues and advocate for equitable ecological solutions. The Hydrologic Sciences and Policy specialization focuses on scientific training to address intricate water-related challenges across local, regional, and worldwide scales. The curriculum establishes a robust foundation for analyzing hydrological systems, with coursework collaboratively designed by departments including Ecology, Evolution, Marine Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Geography, and Earth Science. Initial coursework emphasizes fundamental physical and natural sciences, while advanced studies feature core hydrology classes followed by specialization tracks in biology/ecology, physical/chemical sciences, or policy.
