Welcome. The MFA Writing Program seeks bold, creative writers and fosters collaborative literary communities. This selective program admits just 4-8 funded students annually, enabling close mentorship between faculty and students through cross-genre quarterly workshops.

This full-time, two-year residential program emphasizes the connections between literary practice, creative processes, and cultural studies. While structured as a two-year course, most participants opt to extend their studies to a third year.

Our graduate workshops transcend genre boundaries and challenge traditional divisions between creative and academic study. The program promotes interdisciplinary exploration and integrated teaching methods. Many MFA writing students serve as Teaching Assistants, developing creative-critical pedagogy skills while receiving financial support through scholarships, fellowships, and union-protected compensation.
