Qualification Requirements

For admission to the graduate programs, a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics is recommended or a strong background in mathematics with a minimum GPA of 3.0 required. A year's sequence in both upper-division algebra and real analysis is strongly encouraged. The minimum required overall score for the TOEFL is 85 for the Internet based test (iBT) or 550 for the paper based test (PBT). The minimum required overall score for the IELTS is Band Score 7. Please note that the Math Department looks critically at the speaking scores for these tests. A TOEFL speaking score of at least 23 is highly recommended, and an IELTS speaking score of 7 is highly recommended
