The University of Washington's Statistics PhD program seeks motivated, talented students aiming for research-focused careers in both theoretical and applied Statistics and Probability. UW's Statistics Department provides resources for experimental design, data modeling and analysis to address scientific inquiries, and visualizing intricate patterns. Undergraduate students have participated in research spanning data mining, spatial statistics, math education, and data visualization. Beyond its own degree programs, the Department contributes to the Applied and Computational Mathematical Sciences (ACMS) major. The PhD pathway aims to deliver specialized training in social science fields for Statistics doctoral candidates.
