The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) program in Bioengineering: Bioinformatics focuses on analyzing the extensive data flow (genetic, metabolic, and regulatory) within biological systems, offering a comprehensive view of cellular and organismal properties. This discipline also provides an undergraduate major culminating in a BS degree in bioengineering: bioinformatics. Bioinformatics explores how biological information is organized and transmitted in living organisms. The curriculum highlights computational methods and modeling techniques for collecting, combining, and analyzing biological data. Developed collaboratively by the Bioengineering and Computer Science departments along with Biological Sciences, students can enroll through any of these academic units. Graduates are equipped for professional opportunities in pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical software sectors, as well as advanced studies in graduate or medical programs.
