UC Riverside's Single Subject Credential program equips you to become an exceptional educator or school administrator. Through collaborative peer groups and guidance from veteran teachers, you'll gain the skills needed for classroom success. Upon graduation, you'll receive a California teaching license that's recognized nationwide, opening doors to diverse professional opportunities. You can opt for either the standalone teaching credential or combine it with a Master's in Education. Both options follow the same intensive one-year cohort schedule.
This program awards a Single Subject Teaching Credential.
With this credential, you're qualified to teach in secondary education settings (typically grades 7-12)
The intensive year-long program commences in Summer quarter (June) and concludes the following Spring quarter (June)
You'll be prepared to teach at the middle or high school level in one of these specialized areas:
English
Mathematics
Social Science
Science (covering Biology, Chemistry, Geoscience, Physics, and General Science)
World Languages (specifically Spanish)
