Our Mathematics Ph.D. program caters to both Pure and Applied Mathematicians. Program Requirements:
Complete four core course sequences selected from Algebra, Applied Mathematics, Complex Analysis, PDE, Topology, and/or Real Analysis. Each sequence includes all courses sharing the same numerical designation (excluding alphabetical suffixes). Standalone courses without suffixes don't count toward sequences.
Successfully pass two written qualifying exams, with a maximum of two attempts permitted per sequence.
Finish four graduate-level Mathematics electives. Complete a 2-unit Professional Development course.
Produce and defend an original Ph.D. dissertation that makes a substantial contribution to mathematical scholarship. Expected Completion Time: 15 quarters
