The Doctor of Philosophy in Theater and Performance Studies is a cutting-edge, multidisciplinary program providing a global perspective on theater, performance, and performative arts. Our faculty's diverse research specialties support an extensive variety of dissertation topics, employing innovative analytical approaches from critical theory to examine performance practices. Candidates should demonstrate awareness and experience in one of the major fields of theater. Applicants may be admitted with an MFA, MA, or BA degree.

TOEFL score on the paper and pencil test must be at least 560 or at least 87 on the internet-based test.
