UCLA's Developmental Psychology Graduate Program emphasizes rigorous research. Our studies explore human growth from early childhood through adolescence, employing both controlled lab settings and real-world observational approaches. The program aims to cultivate autonomous researchers, with new students anticipated to engage actively in scholarly investigations shortly after enrollment.
Research assistance for students is outstanding. Participants can utilize cutting-edge techniques (such as MRI, EEG/ERP, genetic analysis, physiological monitoring, microbiome studies, eye-tracking technology, educational environment research, and international cross-cultural fieldwork) along with resources for investigating emotional and cognitive neuroscience, neural foundations of wellbeing, sensory and intellectual growth, language learning, family dynamics, social interactions, cultural influences on development, and developmental conditions.
