The Transportation Science graduate program brings together faculty from four academic departments: Civil and Environmental Engineering in The Henry Samueli School of Engineering, Economics in the School of Social Sciences, Planning, Policy, and Design in the School of Social Ecology, and Computer Science in the Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences. This program equips students with diverse skills and viewpoints that reflect real-world transportation research practices. Students can pursue either an M.S. or Ph.D. in Transportation Science. As transportation challenges demand multiple viewpoints, the field has grown increasingly interdisciplinary. Today's transportation researchers routinely incorporate knowledge and methods from other disciplines, and all major transportation publications now span multiple academic fields.
