The BSMS Integrated Degree Program (IDP) in Biological Systems Engineering (EBS) enables students to efficiently transition to the master's program after earning their bachelor's degree. Following undergraduate completion, the master's degree takes 18 months under Plan I (Thesis) and 12 months under Plan II (Comprehensive Examination). This contrasts with the standard master's program durations of 24 months for Plan I and 18 months for Plan II. The program maintains competitive and rigorous standards to ensure student success. The EBS IDP is available to UC Davis Engineering undergraduates pursuing a Master's degree in Biological Systems Engineering. Students can apply during their junior year, with late applications considered if justified.Admitted IDP students start in their final undergraduate year and must complete up to two graduate-level courses. After submitting a graduate application and successfully finishing their bachelor's degree, students advance to graduate standing to continue their graduate studies.
