The Biological Sciences major offers a comprehensive approach, encompassing the diverse fundamental fields of biology. The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) curriculum incorporates foundational studies in mathematics, general and organic chemistry, physics, and introductory biology, along with advanced courses highlighting the scope of biological sciences. B.S. degree candidates undertake further upper-level biology studies, selecting from specialized topics like molecular biology and genetics, animal behavior, plant development, bioinformatics, marine biology, forensics, and microbiology, with research and internship opportunities available. Participating departments include Evolution & Ecology, Microbiology & Molecular Genetics, Molecular & Cellular Biology, Neurobiology, Physiology, & Behavior, and Plant Biology
This program equips graduates for advanced studies in graduate or professional schools, paving the way for diverse healthcare professions or deeper exploration in biological research.
